Growing up in Oregon, I spent all of my rainy day time as a child and teenager drawing everything I saw. I am still constantly striving to learn and perfect my craft. I have studied everything I could find on light and its effects on color and its surroundings, as well as how to apply this knowledge to my work.
In the 1980's and 1990s I produced a large volume of work, showing at art shows and one-man shows on the west coast, and my work hangs in many private and corporate collections. In 1995 I found myself raising three beautiful children as a single parent, and took a hiatus from my art career.
I moved to the east coast in 2005 and had the opportunity to renew my passion for art. i received numerous awards and recognitions for my work, including 4 Best in Show and 2 People's Choice awards at juried shows sponsored by the Cape Cod Art Association, a special memorial award at the annual American Professional Leagues 2007 show at the Salmagundi Club in New York City, and most recently Best Oil at the Cheyenne Frontier selected to be among the finalists in the Art Renewal Center's International 2009/2010 Salan, a world recognized competition intended to showcase realistic art.
Because of its rich history, abundant wildlife, beautiful scenery, and many fascinating people I chose to make Montana my home in 2009. In my efforts to capture some of the personality and beauty of the life in Montana, I am continuing to learn and grow with each new work of art that I create.
