David Evans was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and at an early age showed a strong interest in art and sports. His family often took trips to Yellowstone and other western mountain regions. These surroundings helped develop his love for the outdoors and greatly influenced the subject matter for his paintings.
He attended the University of Utah on a baseball scholarship. After graduating with a degree in business he worked in technical sales and spent most of his evenings painting on the side.
He always wanted to pursue his love of painting, but felt he needed formal training to refine his technical skills. With the encouragement of his wife, they moved to California where he attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.
David does commission work and paints for galleries in the western United States. His paintings are held in corporate and private collections.
Artistic ability runs in his family. David’s grandfather, Edwin Evans was a prominent Utah artist and another relative, Avard Fairbanks was an internationally renowned sculptor. David and his wife Kari reside in Sandy, Utah and are the parents of six children.
